Service Description

Passover Workshop In this ART-ifacts session, children will be making their own salt bowls for the Seder table using sculpey clay. Program Information Has your child ever asked what a mezuzah is, and how is it made? Or wanted to have their own special way to celebrate a holiday? Jewish Art-Ifacts is a new experiential learning program for curious, crafty, and creative children 8-12+ years old to learn about and make their own special Jewish objects using a variety of different crafting techniques. With each object, we will explore meaning, tradition, culture and heritage. As children bring each item home, they can share what they've learned, how the items are used, and why they are important. We will explore a variety of different objects and techniques including handmade challah covers, dipped candles, basic woodcrafts and embroidery. This is a drop off class for creative, hands-on children, ages 8 - 12+. This spring, we will have 5 workshops and you can choose to sign up for one at a time, or purchase a package to join us for all 5! Sessions are $40 + a $15 materials fee. In addition to creating their own special objects to keep, children will bring home a range of materials after each session to share their new crafting methods with their families.
