About the Event

CELEBRATE NATURE: A Series Exploring the Jewish Holidays & the Great Outdoors

So many Jewish holidays have a tie to nature  – from Sukkot with its mandate to build an outdoor hut, a sukkah, to Passover with its themes of Spring and reawakening  – connecting us to the earth and the rhythms of time. With Harlem mommy and former Tinkergarten instructor Vicki Messler as our guide, let’s get back to nature for a Celebrate Nature series, where we will get our hands dirty and explore the Jewish holidays and their connection to the outdoors. Ideal for families with children ages 3-10.

Hannukah Latern Walk

We'll meet up at JCC Harlem for pizza and to make bright & colorful lanterns. We'll then head out to walk, sing, and light up Morningside Park for the first night of Hanukkah, followed by hot chocolate back at JCC Harlem.
